Dr. Philip T. Dunwoody, Ph.D., is a distinguished institutional leader with extensive experience in program effectiveness assessment, accreditation compliance, and research methodology. Currently serving as the Division Head of Social Sciences and Chair of the Department of Education at Juniata College, he oversees the Departments of Communication, Education, Peace & Conflict Studies, Politics, Psychology, and Social Work & Criminal Justice.
As the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness (2020-2023), he led a dedicated team focused on data-driven approaches to student success and retention, ensuring rigorous compliance with accreditation standards using sophisticated quantitative and qualitative research methods. He successfully oversaw Juniata’s 2023 institutional reaccreditation process with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
A published author with numerous contributions to the field of psychology, Dr. Dunwoody is a respected scholar and methodologist. He serves as a MSCHE Peer Evaluator to assess colleges’ compliance with standards and regulations.
